INFORMATION FOR JOB APPLICANTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LEGISLATION ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

1. Processing of personal data

Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data (“GDPR”), we hereby inform you that SINA S.p.A. (the “Company” or the “Data Controller”), as the data controller, shall process personal data supplied by you, and also acquired from third party sources, during the selection procedures initiated by the Company.

2. Purpose of this notice

This notice explains the nature of personal data being processed , the purposes and methods of data processing, any recipients of your data and the rights that are granted to you. The Company may supplement and/or update all or part of this information on the Company’s website (www.sinaing.it), particularly in view of future changes that may be made to the applicable legislation on personal data.

3. Purpose of data use

Your personal data are used for selection procedures, in particular, to proceed to the evaluation of the prerequisites for hiring and/or starting  a collaboration. Furthermore they will also be used for the follow up on the candidate’s request.

4. Nature of the provision

The provision of data is optional and at the discretion of candidates submitting their CVs unprompted by the Data Controller. As regards the data subsequently requested by the Data Controller, failure to provide such data will make it impossible to proceed with the evaluation of the prerequisites for hiring and/or starting  a collaboration. Therefore, the possible start a  relationship with the Data Controller.

5. No need for consent

You do not have to consent to the data processing as it concerns data provided in CVs voluntarily sent by the data subjects in order toestablish a potential work relationship/collaboration.

6. Personal data subject to processing

The personal data relate to the following in particular: Name, address or other personal identification, employment data, social security data, education and work history.
In exceptional cases, should the need arise, such as the case whereby in order to establish a work relationship it becomes known that the person concerned is eligible for special protection, other personal data may be acquired. These data fall into the category of “sensitive” data in accordance with the applicable legislation (data disclosing racial and ethnic origin, religious, philosophical or other beliefs, political opinions, membership of parties, trade unions, associations or organizations of a religious, philosophical, political or trade union nature; as well as personal data disclosing health and sex life).

7. Use of data

The personal data may be processed by electronic means or using non-automated tools. The processing is carried out by means of operations, systems and data managing methods which are strictly necessary to fulfill the above obligations, tasks or purposes.

8.1 The data are used by the Data Controller’s staff who have been assigned a specific role and have been given appropriate operating instructions. Your personal data will be made accessible only to those who, within the company organization, need them because of their job or hierarchical position.
8.2 Your personal data may also be processed by third parties to whom the Company entrusts activities and services (or part of them) for the pursuit of the purposes indicated in this policy. These third parties will operate, as appropriate, either as data processors or independent data controllers in one of the following categories:

a) companies belonging to the same group as the Company;
b) entities providing information system management and maintenance services;
c) entities providing personnel search and selection services;
d) entities providing administrative services for obtaining consular visas

8.3 The third parties mentioned above may also be established abroad, in the EU or non-EU countries. In the latter case, the transfer of the data is carried out by virtue of the existence of a resolution of the European Commission about the adequacy of the level of data protection of the non-EU country. Moreover it can also be carried out on the basis of appropriate and suitable guarantees provided by the Articles 46 or 47 of the GDPR (e.g. signing of the “standard clauses” of data protection adopted by the European Commission) or on the basis of additional prerequisites of legitimacy provided by the Article 49 of the GDPR. 9 Data retention time
The data will be retained for the time necessary to fulfill the requirements for the selection of the candidate and in any case no longer than five years from their collection, except in the event of the initiation of an employment relationship and/or collaboration.

11. Data Protection Officer

12. Exercise of rights
Under the conditions and within the limits of the applicable legislation, you may exercise the following rights in relation to the processing of your personal data: (i) the right of access to personal data and information on the processing thereof; (ii) the right of rectification if personal data are inaccurate or incomplete; (iii) the right to have personal data erased; (iv) the right to object to the processing of personal data; (v) the right to restrict the processing of personal data: (vi) the right to have personal data transferred to other companies or organizations and/or to receive personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. These rights may be exercised by contacting privacy@sina.co.it.

If you find any irregularities in the processing of your personal data, you can complain to the Guarantor for the protection of personal data, in the manner stated on the site of the Guarantor (www.garanteprivacy.it).
